UX Designer resume skills in 2026: what gets you screened in (the 5-point short version)
- Your portfolio is the real screen, so put the link in the header and make sure it opens without a password. A UX resume without a working portfolio link is rejected before the skills section is read.
- Name your research methods and their sample sizes: usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies, card sorting, surveys. Designers who only produce artefacts are a weaker hire than designers who generate evidence.
- Show outcomes in product metrics — task success rate, time on task, conversion, support-ticket reduction, SUS score. Design work quantified in business terms is rare and disproportionately persuasive.
- State the tools: Figma including auto-layout, variables and prototyping, plus Maze, Dovetail, UserTesting or Hotjar. Figma fluency at component-system level is assumed in 2026.
- Describe your design-system work — components built or maintained, adoption across teams, accessibility baked in. Systems work is what scales a designer beyond their own screens.
