Hospitality Professional resume skills in 2026: what gets you screened in (the 5-point short version)
- Name the property or venue profile: number of rooms or covers, service level, brand or independent, and annual revenue. Hospitality experience is read almost entirely through the lens of property type.
- Show guest-satisfaction outcomes in the industry's own metrics — TripAdvisor or Google rating, brand guest-satisfaction index, NPS, review volume and response rate.
- Name the systems: Opera or Mews for PMS, Toast, Micros or Square for POS, OpenTable or SevenRooms for reservations, and the revenue-management tool if you touched pricing.
- Quantify commercial contribution — RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, covers per shift, average check, food and beverage cost percentage. These are the numbers a general manager is themselves measured on.
- Demonstrate team leadership under pressure: headcount managed, turnover, training delivered, and a service-recovery example. Retention is the sector's central operational problem and it is what you will be asked about.
