Sales Resume Bullet Points
Sales resumes need to show revenue, quota performance, and relationship skills in a few tight bullets. This guide provides examples and a simple structure so you can present your track record in a way that recruiters and ATS recognise.
- Open with quota attainment and the quota itself: '118% of a $1.4M annual quota, three years running'. Percentage without the number is the most common way sales resumes accidentally look junior.
- State segment, deal size and cycle length — SMB at $8k closing in three weeks, or enterprise at $400k closing in nine months. These are different jobs and hiring managers screen for the exact motion.
- Show the whole funnel you own: pipeline self-sourced versus inbound, win rate, average deal size, and expansion or renewal if it is yours. It proves you built the number rather than inherited it.
- Name the methodology and the stack: MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, Challenger, Sandler, with Salesforce, Gong, Outreach and Clari. Sales-leadership screens treat framework fluency as a proxy for coachability.
- Include a bullet about a loss or a churn you learned from, framed with what changed afterwards. It is unusual, it is credible, and it is what a VP of Sales actually wants to talk about.
Bullet examples
- Exceeded quota by 120% in FY24; closed 15 new enterprise deals with average contract value of $85K.
- Built pipeline of $2M+ through outbound campaigns and partner referrals; converted 22% to closed-won.
- Managed 45 accounts in mid-market segment; achieved 95% retention and grew ARR by 30% through upsells.
- Led RFP response for $500K deal; coordinated with product and legal and won against 3 incumbents.
- Trained 5 new SDRs on outreach and CRM; team exceeded target by 15% in first full quarter.
Impact formulas
- Quota + result (e.g. 'Exceeded quota by X%', 'Achieved Y% of target')
- Revenue + scope (e.g. 'Closed $X in new business', 'Grew ARR by Y%')
- Activity + outcome (e.g. 'Generated pipeline of $X', 'Converted Y% to closed-won')
Paste a job URL and your background into WadeCV. It maps your work against the posting and writes recruiter-ready, quantified bullets in the same action + scope + metric + outcome shape as the examples above — ATS-safe DOCX, free to try with 1 credit included.
Lead with numbers: quota attainment, revenue, deal count, retention, and pipeline.
Use role-appropriate metrics—SDRs focus on pipeline and activity; account executives on closed revenue and retention. Tailoring your resume to the company's segment (SMB, enterprise, industry) will improve fit. WadeCV can help you align your sales experience with job descriptions and highlight your strongest results.
